This game was supposed to be about the two young hotshot point guards who were each selected No. 1 overall out of a school led by John Calipari. Derrick Rose and John Wall have each had quality games so far, but the story for the Wizards has been Gilbert Arenas. He leads all Wizards with nine points off the bench, but could do better than his current 4-11 shooting line.
As for the Wall-Rose matchup, the Wizards rookie has gotten the bettter of his opportunities so far. Wall is 4-8 with eight points, five assists, and three steals. Rose is 3-11 with nine points, three assists, and one steal. The highlight of the night though would probably be Wall's fast-break score at 2:16 in the second quarter.
Another storyline tonight is Kirk Hinrich's return to Chicago. The Bulls showed a tribute video to their fomer player, and Heinrich received a nice standing ovation from the crowd. He's returned the favor to them so far by going scoreless despite being second only to Wall in minutes played.
