The Wizards are not having many problems replacing John Wall. At least not for tonight.
Andray Blatche's 13 points, Gilbert Arenas' seven points and JaVale McGee's nine rebounds highlighted the Wizards' first half as they head into the locker room with a 54-47 lead over the Toronto Raptors.
Washington is without Wall, who is missing the first game of his short NBA career with a sprained foot. Wall's 40 minutes per game, which leads the team, is being spread around. Reserve Nick Young has a team-high 14 points off the bench, while Trevor Booker and Cartier Martin saw action as well. Forward Yi Jianlian is also missing for the Wizards, but Blatche, McGee and Hilton Armstrong have combined for 15 rebounds. Kirk Hinrich also has a team-high six assists.
The Raptors, who also have two wins on the season, lead the NBA in fast break points with 21.7 per game, but the Wizards have subdued the Raptors' potent running game by allowing only 13 in the first half. Sonny Weems leads the Raptors with 14 points in 20 minutes of action.
