The NHL already has video replay to review some of their calls, but as is the case with the use of replay in every sport, there are some out there who want to expand it's jurisdiction. Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau weighs in.

↵Boudreau would welcome having NFL-style challenges in #NHL: "Quite frankly, we've been screwed a couple times in the playoffs." #Caps
↵I agree with coach Boudreau like I do with everyone who advocates expanding the use of replay. Any time you have a better chance of getting a call right, you absolutely have to do it. Even if it means slowing the game down a little bit. And if you let the coaches challenge a play, it means they can't complain about it afterward, which is always a good thing.
↵But what would the coaches throw onto the ice to initiate a challenge? Maybe a red hat? Or the whole league could adopt the Red Wings tradition and throw a squid out onto the ice. That might be an even better reason to do it than the challenge itself.
