Lakers Vs. Wizards: Fast-Paced Quarter Ends With Wizards Up 24-22 Over Lakers

After last Tuesday's slow start that led to an exciting finish, the Wizards wasted no time in keeping pace with the Los Angeles Lakers as they lead 24-22 at the end of the first quarter.

The Wizards lost last Tuesday's matchup 115-108, but found themselves down by 13 at the end of the first quarter. Nick Young, who scored 30 points last week, and Trevor Booker lead the Wizards with five points each. Gilbert Arenas added two points and six assists.

John Wall and Andray Blatche are sitting out of tonight's game with injuries, forcing Flip Saunders to use his NBA-high 10th different starting lineup. One of those starters, however, left the game midway through the quarter when Yi Jianlian collided with Ron Artest and tweaked his already-injured right knee. Yi would have to be carried off of the court and will not return with a sprained right knee injury.

Kobe Bryant leads all scorers with eight points and Andrew Bynum, making his season debut, has six points.
