Wizards Vs. Nets: Kirk Hinrich Helps Cut Nets' Lead To 74-67

The WIzards looked pretty defeated after trailing by 17 at halftime and by as many as 23 to the lowly New Jersey Nets, but Kirk Hinrich wouldn't let Washington go away without a fight. Hinrich scored eight points in the third quarter to push the WIzards within seven of the Nets, 74-67.

Gilbert Arenas hit three three-pointers to help cut the lead down to as low as five, but offensive rebounding and second-chance points for New Jersey kept the Wizards at bay.

As time expired, Kris Humphries attempted to tip in a missed layup, but was fouled at the buzzer. Humphries would miss both free throws to keep the score at 74-67.
