We've got a good game on our hands at Verizon Center tonight, as two fairly evenly matched teams have played a close first half, with the Wizards escaping with a five point lead.
Andray Blatche and Al Thornton have each impressed for the Wizards in the first 24 minutes of action. Blatche has 10 points and seven rebounds while Thornton has scored nine points and collected six rebounds off the bench. Thornton had a put-back dunk that was particularly impressive as the Wizards have looked to be in top form at points throughout the first half.
Toronto's Jose Calderon is leading his team with 10 points and five assists, but the Raptors have been schooled by the Wizards on the boards, with the home team out-rebounding them 28-21 after two quarters.
This is an important game for the Wizards as they try to fight their way back up the standings. The Raptors are only three games ahead of them in the Eastern Conference, and with the Wizards' roster now approaching full health, this seems to be as good a time as any to try to go on a run.
