The Washington Wizards are playing their fourth game in five nights, and it showed in the first quarter against the Denver Nuggets. The Wizards came out with little energy, allowing the Nuggets to roll all over them. However, they rallied and trail just 33-26 at the end of the first quarter.
Andray Blatche, after facing heavy criticism from yet another confusing radio appearance, has shown up for the Wizards. He has 15 of the team's 26 points, and has been aggressive getting to the basket. Alas, nobody else has really come along for the ride. John Wall and Rashard Lewis have both yet to score, with Lewis bricking several wide open three-pointers and Wall missing a wide open layup near the end of the half.
Carmelo Anthony has five points on just 1-6 shoting, but it's Chauncey Billups that has picked up the slack for the Nuggets. Billups has 12 points and has yet to miss a shot from the field. He picked up two early fouls, but George Karl trusted him and left in there to bury the Wizards.
