Goodman League Vs.Team Philly Battle Scheduled For Oct. 15

Washington, D.C.'s Goodman League squad of NBA stars--led by two-time scoring champion Kevin Durant and Washington Wizards cornerstone John Wall--has scheduled its latest exhibition matchup. As Sean Sweeney of Dime Magazine reports, Goodman League will take on Team Philly on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Calvin Coolidge High School here in D.C. Tickets are available online and at the door. More details below the jump.

Despite its lack of star power--its best player is likely Tyreke Evans--Team Philly nonetheless upended Carmelo Anthony's Team Melo, which featured LeBron James and Chris Paul, in an exhibition earlier this summer. Clearly, the Philly squad has the potential to back up Hakim Warrick's boast that it is the best team to take the hardwood this summer. It'll be up to Durant, Wall, and other rotation-caliber NBAers like Michael Beasley, DeMarcus Cousins, and Jeff Green to prove Warrick wrong.

Goodman League is more than up to that challenge, having twice defeated the Los Angeles-based Drew League squad (which features Nick Young, Wall's Wizards teammate) and all other comers. Sweeney is right to term the Goodman/Philly matchup as a "clash of the titans."
