With the NBA lockout ending over the weekend, we're just days away from the start of what should be a wacky NBA free agency period. The whole thing will get started on December 9, the same day as the start of training camp. The Washington Wizards may not be one of the biggest players in the market, but as Bullets Forever notes, they have a decent amount of cap room that could grow even further if they elect to use the new Amnesty clause to release Rashard Lewis.
The Wizards' top priority will be to make a decision on starting shooting guard Nick Young. Young is a restricted free agent, which means teams can offer him a contract, but the Wizards have three days to match it. Young averaged 17.4 points per game in 64 games before succumbing to a knee injury late in the season.
The Wizards' other free agents include Josh Howard, Maurice Evans and Yi Jianlian, who are all unrestricted free agents.
