NBA Trade Rumors: New York Knicks Will Trade Ronny Turiaf To Wizards, According To Reports

Late Friday night, reports out of New York indicated that the Knicks were finalizing a deal to send power forward Ronny Turiaf to the Washington Wizards. The Knicks need to ship out Turiaf in order to clear room to get under the cap and make the Tyson Chandler signing official. The Knicks, in another cap saving move, also waived Chauncey Billups via the amnesty clause on Friday

It appears that the Wizards will not be sending anything to the Knicks in return, and that New York may even have to send additional cash to complete the deal.

Via Marc Berman of The New York Post:

It does not appear the Knicks would receive anything in return and will likely have to give the Wizards cash to pay for part of his pact. The new CBA states a team can add a total of $3 million in trades in a full year.

While the deal is still not official, there's a strong possibility that it will be finalized on Friday night. Turiaf is an energy guy off the bench, who adds some physicality and rebounding in the paint.
