Spurs Vs. Wizards: San Antonio Bench Leads 118-94 Win

Well, it wasn't the worst loss in franchise history. The score in the Spurs vs. Wizards game was already getting away from Washington in the first quarter. By the end of the second half San Antonio had more points, 72, than it had all Friday night in a 77-71 loss to the Sixers. By the end of the game ... well, it was 118-94, and it was ugly.

Washington got blown out early by the San Antonio starters, but the Spurs move to the bench didn't offer much of a respite. San Antonio had six players in double figures, and Tim Duncan was stuck in single digits because he only played 12 (!) minutes. Instead, fans at the Verizon Center were treated to a lot of Steve Novak and Matt Bonner.

To put this loss in context, the Wizards worst loss in history was by 40 vs golden state in 1975. Their worse loss at home? Came against the Celtics in the form of a 122-88 trashing in Dec. 2008 (info courtesy of the tireless Mike Prada.)

The Wizards can now turn their attention to Sunday night's matchup against Cleveland. The game is being billed as the Toilet Bow, as the Cavs recently snapped a 26-game losing streak, while the Wizards have yet to win on the road this season. Be sure to tune in!
