The team that showed in the Wizards uniforms at Quicken Loans Arena hardly resembles the Washington we've come to know on the road. This team played with energy and purpose, and leads the Cavaliers 68-46 at halftime. It's the most points the Wizards have scored in a season this half.
It turns out this type of lead is really rare for the Wizards.
The Cavs are struggling to stay in front of John Wall, who has ignited the Wizards offense with nine assists (and 15 points) so far. Nick Young scored 18 points in 14 minutes and missed just three of his 11 shots. Andray Blatche hasn't missed a shot, and has 11 points in less than 10 minutes.
As a team, the Wizards shot 60 percent from the field in the first half. They're sharing the ball, too -- 18 assists to Cleveland's seven. The Cavs have struggled in general, shooting just 34 percent from the field.
Last night, the Wizards were putrid at home against the Spurs. Given the way the Wizards have played on the road this season, this has been quite a 180. It'll be up to Washington to sustain this performance in the second half.
