JaVale McGee Will Put Dollar Bill In Net At 2011 Slam Dunk Contest

JaVale McGee will need to do something ridiculous to defeat overwhelming 2011 Slam Dunk Contest favorite Blake Griffin on Saturday night. Griffin is the league's golden boy, and he's also competing at home at the Staples Center. Given that subjectivity is a huge thing with these kind of contests, McGee and the other participants -- DeMar DeRozan and Serge Ibaka -- will have to either do a dunk that nobody has ever seen or pull out some gimmick. Or, do both.

UPDATE: 2011 NBA All-Star Weekend: TV Schedule for Dunk Contest

Now, we know that McGee will do two things. First, he plans on actually doing the paper dunk that we saw him do at practice earlier this year ... except this time, he plans on putting a dollar bill in the net. "That's the rumor out there," says CSN's Chris Miller, and JaVale merely responded "it's a rumor." It looks like it's going to happen.

Also, McGee says he's going to wear four different pairs of shoes for his dunks. Two of the shoes, to me, are no-brainers. For one dunk, he needs to wear John Wall's Reebok Zigtech Slash, because Wall will be there in attendance. For another, I'd like to see him bring out the classic Converse Chuck Taylors, since old school is always good. The other two shoes are up in the air, but I like those choices.
