Many felt JaVale McGee deserved to win the 2011 Slam Dunk Contest over Blake Griffin, including, most likely, McGee himself. On this play, McGee extracted a little bit of revenge, stuffing home a half-court alleyoop pass from John Wall right in Griffin's face.
↵It was a typical McGee dunk, both spectacular and somewhat awkward. The best part of the play may actually be Wall's pass, which was right on the money despite being from over 50 feet away from the hoop. Then again, it's hard to miss McGee on an alleyoop, considering his size and leaping ability.
↵Unfortunately for the Wizards, Griffin and the Clippers have the last laugh, with a comfortable lead in the third quarter. Griffin is having one of his best games of the season, though that's undoubtedly aided by the star calls he has received in this game. In a way, then, this game has been a microcosm of the Wizards' season. They had the best play, but it looks like they will lose the game.
