JaVale McGee Continues To Frustrate Flip Saunders

During the Wizards' blowout loss against the Thunder last night, JaVale McGee attempted a behind the back pass that went begging, and Flip Saunders proceeded to pull him out of the game. Here is what he had to say about it after the game, from Bullets Forever.

Well, y'know. Let's put it this way, if we weren't in a rebuild, y'know on my others (teams) he'd have a tough time. You have to bite your lip, I bite my lip, I almost have a callous on my lip to try and let them play through some things and hope that they get it. But (sardonic chuckle) you can't play that way. I mean that's y'know... (pause) that's losing basketball.

I think the thing we've all been waiting for is JaVale McGee (as well as some of the other young Wizards) to just "get it." Play the way that I'm assuming Flip Saunders would describe as winning basketball. To this point, he hasn't done that. He can just jump really high. And that's nice, but as we've seen, it's not going to win a lot of ball games.
