NBA Power Rankings: Wizards Still The Third Worst Team In The League

SB Nation just came out with the latest edition of its NBA Power Rankings, and the Wizards are still placed among the league's worst teams. Not only do they rank the Wizards 28th out of 30 teams, but it also questions whether or not head coach Flip Saunders' job is safe. Talk about adding insult to injury.

This season has to be testing franchise owner Ted Leonsis' patience. Most teams would can Flip Saunders after two seasons like this. Leonsis and Ernie Grunfeld seem more patient than most teams. But it's hard to consider the captain of such a wayward ship safe.

I understand the point they are trying to make, but I think that Grunfeld and the ownership understand that there isn't a coach out there who could have made a winner out of this team. The roster they have assembled isn't prepared to win now, and I don't think Saunders can be blamed for their struggles. Sticking with him shows their loyalty, and their refusal to make a move just for the sake of making it. That's the kind of approach I like to see from my decision-makers.
