Celtics Vs. Wizards: Washington Has Hands Full With Celtics, Trail 44-37

This was supposed to be a little easier with the Celtics sitting their starters, and maybe it is. But the Wizards still have their hands full with Boston's JV team and the halftime score, 44-37 in Boston's favor, reflects that.

The Wizards looked asleep early as the Wizards jumped out to a 12-2 lead early and 23-19 lead after the first quarter. Not a good look, given the Celtics are relying on Delonte West and Jeff Greene at the offensive end. West had just three points in the first quarter, but picked it up the second finishing the half with 11 points. Jermaine O'Neal has also turned back the clock, with 10 points at the break, including a left-handed dunk on Andray Blatche's head.

Meanwhile, the Wizards have picked it up, too. JaVale McGee has delighted and frustrated in a first half that was more or less  a microcosm of his career. Tantalizing potential displayed on an array dunks, rebounds and blocked shots -- even a surprise behind-the-back assist on the break -- intertwined with an equal amount of irrational post maneuvers, etc.

John Wall leads the Wizards with 13 points despite shooting just 3-of-10 from the field. He has hit 7-of-8 free throws.

Be sure to check out video of McGee's pass on SB Nation DC. You will be happy.
