Wizards Vs. Cavs: Washington Looking Good, Up 50-47 In Season Finale

Once again, the Wizards look comfortable and confident in Cleveland. Of course, Washington broke its 25-game road losing streak against the Cavs in the Quicken Loans Arena back on Feb. 13. On Wednesday night the Wizards lead 50-47 at halftime, and could be on their way to another win.

Still, the Wizards could be up by quite a bit more. Washington led by 13 at the end of the first quarter and looked to be on its way to an easy win. But Flip Saunders chose to give extended minutes to his bench in the second quarter, and the unit coughed up much of that lead.

Mo Evans leads the Wizards with 12 points, while Andray Blatche has added nine points and four rebounds. Wizards fans should take note of Othyus Jeffers, who has been more than a spark plug off the bench for the Wizards -- providing strong minutes and the type of energy and commitment that inspired Washington to compete down the stretch of this season even when the faintest hopes of the playoff race were long gone. Jeffers has seven points.

Washington's defense has held the Cavaliers to 34.8 percent shooting on the night. The Wizards also have seven steals and eight blocks, compared to the Cavs who failed to register a single steal or block.
