Oh, the joys of being a basketball player in the nation's capital. John Wall has received plenty of perks in a wild rookie season, but it's likely none compare to him getting invited to the annual White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night.
↵Yes, the Wizards' star was on the invite list, along with many other celebrities and athletes. He was the one and only guest of The Hill newspaper, and got in because president Barack Obama, in case you hadn't heard, loves basketball.
↵↵↵↵↵"He's a big star and a Washington figure, and we thought it would be fun to have him with us," said editor Hugo Gurdon. "And the president is a big basketball fan."

Other athletes or former athletes in attendance include former Orioles legend Cal Ripken Jr., Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony and former Lakers player Rick Fox. Sadly, the best player on Obama's beloved Chicago Bulls, Derrick Rose, had a playoff run to tend to. I guess Wall is good enough as a backup option.
