John Wall Pledges To Wear Irene Pollin's Gold Jacket At NBA Draft Lottery

WASHINGTON, D.C. - While the Wizards were unveiling their new jerseys and uniforms, Ted Leonsis also announced that John Wall will be the man representing the organization at next week's NBA Draft lottery. The Wizards got lucky to move up to the No. 1 pick to get Wall last year, so now, they're asking him to be the good luck charm in the hopes of lightning striking twice.

And as it turns out, Wall seems willing to do whatever it takes to get it done. For example, he said, half-jokingly, that he'd be willing to wear the gold dress Irene Pollin wore last year to the lottery when I asked him about good luck charms.

"I asked Irene Pollin for the yellow jacket. That's about it," he said. "I'm trying to take it from her."

Earlier, he went a step further when talking to Tracee Hamilton of the Washington Post.

"Oh yeah, there's a lot of pressure," Wall said. "She took that yellow jacket and the ring, so I'm probably going to ask, can I borrow the yellow jacket, then I'm going to ask to find something from my mom, some pearls or something, something unique, so I can try to get a win like she did."
