SB Nation just came out with the latest edition of their 2011 NBA Mock Draft, and it is starting to establish somewhat of a trend. They once again have the Wizards taking international small forward Jan Vesely with the sixth overall pick. Here is their rationale.
Vesely could very well turn into the prize of the top 10; this draft isn't full of physical freaks, but the Czech gazelle qualifies. The Wizards need help at small forward behind (and hopefully in front of) Rashard Lewis, and Vesely is billed as an extraordinary open court player who could mesh well with John Wall. He has volatile stock, though; keep an eye on what the bead on Jan is out of Eurocamp.
I know that the Wizards would probably prefer Kanter in this spot. But at this point at least, it seems like they might have to settle for Vesely. Vesely is a much better fit for the open court style of play that the Wizards will probably prefer with John Wall. Few players his size can get up and down the court like he can. He might not have been the player that most fans were salivating over before the Lottery, but he would be a pretty good consolation prize.
