In what can hardly be dubbed as a surprise, John Wall did not win the NBA's Rookie of the Year award. Instead, Wall will have to settle for finishing second to Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers, who took the league by storm one year after suffering a season-ending knee injury right before what should have been his rookie season.
↵Griffin garnered 590 points in total, with Wall (295), DeMarcus Cousins of the Kings (81), Landry Fields of the Knicks (62), Gary Neal of the Spurs (19) and local product Greg Monroe of the Pistons (15) to follow. Griffin averaged 22.5 points and 12.1 rebounds per game, which certainly dwarf Wall's accomplishments this season given the circumstances. It's really hard to say Wall deserved to win the award.
↵The only way you can do it is if you have fun with the fact that Griffin is sort of not really a rookie. That's what Bullets Forever decided to do.
