The Washington Wizards are holding the first of several workout sessions with draft prospects as they prepare for the 2011 NBA Draft. On Wednesday, they are hosting six prospects, several of which are rumored to be selected somewhere between the No. 6 and No. 18 picks they hold.
Those six prospects include Texas big man Tristan Thompson, Colorado guard Alec Burks and Washington State guard Klay Thompson. Tristan Thompson is a defensive prospect with a limited offensive game, while Burks and Klay Thompson are two of the most prolific scorers in college basketball and could provide insurance in case Nick Young departs over the summer.
The Wizards will also be hosting Purdue center JaJuan Johnson, UTEP guard Randy Culpepper and French guard Andrew Albicy. The Wizards will continue holding workouts throughout the week and on several other occasions leading up to the 2011 NBA Draft on June 23 in New York City.
