NBA Mock Draft 2011: Is No. 6 Too Early For Tristan Thompson?

We've been hearing a lot of names for the Wizards  in various 2011 NBA Mock Drafts, but this new one from NBADraft.net has a name we have yet to see, and quite frankly, a little bit of a reach for the Wizards. They have them taking Texas freshman Tristan Thompson in the first round, which leaves me shaking my head a little bit.

Thomson is a little bit undersized for the power forward spot, but he is pretty good defensively, and has emerging offensive skills. But the Wizards already have some power forwards on the roster, and Thompson isn't good enough to create a logjam for. A better prospect, maybe, but when there are guys like Jonas Valanciunas and Kawhi Leonard still on the board, I think you have to go with one of them.

In the second round, they have the Wizards taking another Texas freshman in point guard Cory Joseph. This is a lot higher than I've seen him go in any other Mock Draft as well, but he could be an intriguing option for the Wizards. He was one of the best players coming out of high school, and like John Wall, has very good size for the position. If you take him in the second round, and he pans out, then the point guard position is solved for the next handful of years.
