NBA Draft Trade Rumors: Washington Wizards, Minnesota Timberwolves Still Discussing Possible Derrick Williams Trade

The Washington Wizards and Minnesota Timberwolves continue to be involved in a number of trade rumors that would potentially net the Wizards the No. 2 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, which they would use to select Arizona's Derrick Williams. The package centers around Washington center JaVale McGee and the Wizards' No. 6 pick, though it remains unclear how much the Wizards would want to part with to get Williams.

We continue to hear rumbling of trade opportunities at this spot, although there is skepticism on the No. 2 pick's value this year. There is talk that Minnesota has offered Washington a swap of the Nos. 2 and 6 picks in a package that includes JaVale McGee, but that appears unlikely unless the Timberwolves part with more assets.

ESPN's Chad Ford reports that the Wizards like Williams, but would have to part with McGee to acquire him.

I think Derrick Williams is the target. Though I've heard they also are big Kanter fans. Is JaVale McGee worth that to them? He's a knucklehead, but he'd probably be ranked very, very high in this draft too.

If the Wizards remain at 6 and cannot get Kanter or Williams, Ford suggests they would choose from Kawhi Leonard, Jan Vesely, Tristan Thompson and even Klay Thompson.
