2011 NBA Draft: Washington Wizards Select Shelvin Mack With 34th Pick Of Draft

The Washington Wizards select Shelvin Mack out of Btler with the 34th pick in the draft.

Mack was perhaps Butler's best player during their NCAA tournament runs in 2010 and 2011. He was among the best guards in both tournaments. Mack will join John Wall Jordan Crawford in the backcourt and gives the Wizards a potential backup point guard at the No. 34 spot.

Mack certainly has the necessary experience to succeed in this kind of setting, and the Wizards are probably hoping he can bring a winning attitude to the team. He was one of the best performers in the 2011 NCAA Tournament, hitting big shots and emerging as Butler's top offensive option. Like everyone else, he was stymied in the national title game, but in leading Butler on yet another Final Four run, Mack cemented his status as an NBA draft pick.

More on this pick as soon as we can.
