Given the team's win total, it's not a surprise that the Washington Wizards lost money last season. Lots of NBA teams are losing money, which is one of the reasons we're potentially headed towards a long NBA lockout. Now, it's been confirmed by owner Ted Leonsis himself.
↵In an interview with Comcast SportsNet's Chris Miller, Leonsis was asked about whether the Wizards were one of many teams David Stern said lost money last year. Leonsis responded that they had. He didn't say how much, of course, so we don't know whether it was a lot or a little. But it clearly was something.
↵That's about all Leonsis would say about the lockout, because Stern will fine owners who speak out about it. Leonsis himself was fined $100,000 for making comments last year, and his comments weren't particularly controversial. I'm guessing Leonsis won't face any sort of fine this time, even though Stern can work in mysterious ways.
