Gilbert Arenas Fined By NBA For His Twitter Comments

If you have been following Gilbert Arenas since he returned to Twitter during Game 1 of the 2011 NBA Finals, then you shouldn't be surprised that he has been fined by the NBA for some of his tweets, according to Zach McCann of the Orlando Sentinel. Which tweets, we don't know, but there's a huge sample of ridiculous ones that the NBA easily could have nailed him on, given what happened to Arenas when he joined Twitter after the gun episode last year.

In response, Arenas has strung together this message:

yes the nba has fined me....for being to awesome..so i can give you the shoes for FREE but gotta charge you for the jokes...i cant believe i got fined..how do i explain this to the lady at the bank...this is gonna take another 40mins... or i could just write a check and if theres a lockout just cancel the check it and maybe they will forget.....i think that will work..

He then went on to joke about how he's stealing his neighbor's cable, how he'll use the "my Twitter got hacked" excuse and how he can no longer afford dinner. I personally find Arenas' Twitter to be endlessly entertaining, if not always tasteful, so I don't get the big deal. Then again, he no longer plays for my favorite team, and I am not a league employee.
