Washington Wizards franchise savior John Wall led his Triangle Gastroenterology team to a 73-71 victory over the Julius Hodge-led 751 South in a Greater NC Pro-Am summer league game Tuesday night. The NBA all-rookie selection had 12 points, including the game-winning free throws with 0.9 seconds left on the clock, in the victory. Hodge, a one-time ACC Player of the Year at N.C. State, had a game-high 20 points and often guarded Wall on the defensive end. He plans to play pro ball in Europe next year.
↵The game had lots of North Carolina flavor. In addition to Wall, a Raleigh native, and Hodge, the contest featured former UNC baller Jawad Williams, incoming Duke recruits Quinn Cook and Marshall Plumlee and Plumlee's older brother, Miles, a rising senior.
↵On the surface, 12 points doesn't seem like much from an NBA star-in-the-making playing against amateurs and Euro-ballers, but there's plenty of video evidence that John Wall did just fine Tuesday night:
