On the second night of their back-to-back series, the Washington Wizards lead the Boston Celtics 48-47 after two quarters at TD Garden in Boston. It was an eventful first quarter for Washington, as head coach Flip Saunders was run off after two technical fouls within the first two minutes of the game. Assistant Randy Wittman has taken over for the night.
The Wizards went on a seven point run to end the first quarter to take a one point lead. Andray Blatche leads all Washington scorers at the half, with 12 points and seven rebounds. Along with Blatche, JaVale McGee has been huge on the glass grabbing ten boards through the first 24 minutes. Rebounding has been an area of need through the first week of the season, but they have outrebounded the C's by four so far.
The Wizards have committed just four turnovers as well, in a solid effort after an ugly first few minutes to the game. They will look to limit the turnovers in the second half to try and clinch their first win of the season.
