Wizards Vs. Celtics: Washington Remains Winless As Celtics Pull Away In Fourth Quarter

While they kept it competitive throughout the night, the Washington Wizards still came up short in Boston to remain winless and fall to 0-5. After holding on to a one point lead at the end of each of the first three quarters, the Wizards were outpaced in the fourth as Boston went on a run mid way through the quarter to take a lead which they would keep until the buzzer sounded. Up four, Paul Pierce iced the game with a three pointer to give the Celtics a seven point lead with less than a minute. The three-pointer was the difference in this one, as Boston shot 50% from behind the arc while Washington converted only three triples.

The sharpshooting Ray Allen did the most damage from deep, as he hit six three-pointers and led Boston with 27 points. Andray Blatche led all scorers with 28 points, hitting eight of ten from the free throw line. His frontcourt mate, JaVale McGee, was huge on the glass with 14 rebounds. He also added 17 points for his third double-double this season. Blatche and McGee competed and kept the Wizards in it in the paint.

Searching for their first win, it doesn't get much easier for the Wizards now as they head out on the road to face Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
