Yet Another Hilarious Pam McGee Story

The Washington Wizards could not come to an agreement on a contract extension for JaVale McGee before Wednesday's deadline, which will make him a restricted free agent. For those worried he may depart, fear not, as the team intends to match pretty much any offer, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

Problem is: when a team signs McGee, they also are getting his mother Pam. Given what she said earlier this year, that's a lot of noise. On Thursday, yet another Pam McGee story got out, via Kevin Dunleavy of the Washington Examiner:

Once, when Tapscott angrily yanked McGee from a game, the center's mother, Pam McGee, rose from her seat behind the Wizards' bench and yelled, "Don't worry baby. He'll be gone next year."

"Tapscott" refers to Ed Tapscott, who took over as the team's interim coach in 2008-09 after Eddie Jordan was fired and is still with the organization. As you probably know, Randy Wittman was just hired as the Wizards' interim coach two days ago. For his own sanity, he might want to tune out Pam McGee.
