That Awkward Moment: Wizards Edition

WASHINGTON, D.C. - That awkward moment where you're in the Wizards locker room and Pardon The Interruption starts mocking the local winless basketball club on the TV everyone is watching. ...

Several Wizards were taking in an episode of PTI in the locker room before Washington's game against the Knicks on Friday night when hosts Mike Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser began ragging on the 'Zards and talking about John Wall's funk and future -- typical stuff that happens when you're the only team still 0-for-the-season.

It gets more awkward after the jump.

"Man, cut that shit off," Roger Mason said to Nick Young and Andray Blatche, who were closer to the TV. Blatche moved over to the television, but didn't turn it off fast enough for Young, who threw something in his direction and echoed, "Man, turn that shit off!"

"That's what happens when you're -- I'm not going to say we're the worst team in the league, because we're not," Blatche said when asked about it in the locker room before the game. "But when your record says 0-6 you bring more attention to yourself."

As if you needed to be reminded: Last season, it took the Wizards 26 road games to win away from the Verizon Center. A little ribbing on national TV? Old hat for the fans, and the players, too.
