The Washington Wizards won their first preseason game of 2012, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 99-95 at Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday night.
Washington trailed by eight after the first quarter but stormed back thanks to strong performances from both starters and role players.
Brian Cook and Jordan Crawford each contributed with 14 points, while Crawford also kicked in seven rebounds from the backcourt. Shavlik Randolph did a nice job off the bench, nabbing nine rebounds and handing out four assists.
Jan Vesely was superb in his 32 minutes, racking up 13 points, five rebounds and two assists while going 5-of-5 from the field. Bradley Beal poured in 14 points and added four rebounds along with three helpers.
Unfortunately, there was a minor bit of bad news on the night with a pair of injuries. Chris Singleton was held out of the game with a shoulder contusion, while Kevin Seraphin came out with a strained right calf in the first half and didn't return.
