The Detroit Pistons' 94-76 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night, coupled with the Wizards 107-101 loss to Dallas, means Washington is now the lone winless team in the NBA. The Wizards have dropped two contests this week, to Dallas and Charlotte, to fall to 0-7 and dead last not only in the Eastern Conference but in all of basketball.
On the flip side, the New York Knicks remain undefeated and atop the Eastern Conference standings at 5-0. New York faces off against the 7-1 San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night at AT&T Center in a battle of conference leaders. The surprising Milwaukee Bucks, 5-2 to begin the year, currently find themselves as the No. 2 seed in the East, with the Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets coming in third and fourth. The Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder all have six wins in the Western Conference, placing them right on the heels of the Spurs.
The Wizards host the Utah Jazz on Saturday at Verizon Center. A loss to the Jazz would equal last season's franchise-worst start to the season at 0-8.
