The Washington Wizards dropped to a franchise-worst 0-9 on Monday after falling to the Indiana Pacers, 96-89, in Washington D.C.
The Pacers finished the game on a 10-4 run after the Wizards had cut their lead to one. Indiana was led by a season-high 30 points from David West (13 in the fourth), and Roy Hibbert broke out of his slump with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Still playing without the services of John Wall and Nene, the Wizards have been unable to find the right combination for a win early in this season. With moves this summer to add some veterans, as well as the addition of top-three pick Bradley Beal, this team looked ready to compete for one of the final playoff spots in the East on paper. But with Wall and Nene out, they haven't been able to find a win.
The Wizards had four players in double-figures, with three of them coming off the bench, including 18 points and three three-pointers from Bradley Beal to lead the team in scoring.
The Pacers are now 5-7. The Wizards will take their 0-9 record to Atlanta to face the Hawks on Wednesday.
