Nene is fully dressed and appears ready to play for the Washington Wizards on Wednesday when they take on the Atlanta Hawks, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post. When asked if he can play against the Hawks, Nene said, "I think I can do something."
The Brazilian center has not played this season due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Nene said he will rely on "experience and faith" as he tries to get back up to game speed against Atlanta. After coming to Washington last season in a mid-season trade with the Denver Nuggets, Nene appeared in 11 games, averaging 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 25.8 minutes per game.
Over the course of his 10-year career Nene has averages of 12.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. The Wizards are the only remaining winless team at 0-9 and hope Nene can help reverse their fortunes. Washington tips off against Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. ET.
