The Washington Wizards picked up their second win of the season this week, withstanding a triple-double from LeBron James to beat the Miami Heat, 105-101. The victory was enough for the Wizards to move out of last place in this week's SB Nation power rankings.
The Wizards moved up one spot to No. 29 in Seth Rosenthal's latest rankings. The Toronto Raptors were the team to fall down into No. 30 at the expense of Washington's small climb. Concerned about the growing list of injured Wizards, Rosenthal wrote this about Washington's week:
The fact that injuries only continue to pile up on this team -- Trevor Ariza, then A.J. Price, all while John Wall's timetable gets sketchier by the day -- is pretty cruel. On the other hand, they beat the goddamn Heat, and for that they get to step up a rank, if only for a week.
Despite the victory over Miami, the Wizards dropped their two other games this past week, on the road to Atlanta and home against Golden State.
The Wizards have a tough week ahead with four games, including the Lakers visiting D.C. and a rematch against the Heat in Miami.
