Wizards vs. Magic recap: Washington fights back, falls 90-83

Down 13 going into the final quarter, the Washington Wizards closed the gap to just four, but their comeback attempt fell short.

J.J. Redick came off the bench to score 17 points and lead the Orlando Magic to a 90-83 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night in Orlando.

The Magic used a stifling defensive effort in the third quarter to distance themselves from Washington before holding on to win it. The Wizards scored just 13 points in the third period and fell behind, 76-63, going into the final 12 minutes.

Washington fought back, however, and cut the deficit to just four at 85-81 with four minutes to play. But the Wizards scored their last points of the game with nearly three minutes left and were unable to cut into the Magic's lead any further.

Nene led the Wizards with 20 points, while Jordan Crawford had 19. Emeka Okafor had eight points and 12 rebounds.

E'Twaun Moore and Arron Afflalo each had 15 points for Orlando to accompany Redick's performance. As a team, Orlando outrebounded Washington, 48-38.
