Cavaliers vs. Wizards preview: Game time, TV schedule and more

The Wizards will try to secure a rare victory against Kyrie Irving and the Cavaliers.

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

It's been a rough year in the nation's capital for pro basketball, but the Washington Wizard will try to start turning that around on Wednesday night at the Verizon Center when they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Washington (3-23) has had a brutal start to its season, not helped by the absence of John Wall, who is yet to play a game this year. The Wizards have struggled on both ends but especially offense, where it averages only 88.8 points per game, easily the lowest total in the league.

Jordan Crawford has been one of the few bright spots for this group, averaging just over 15 points per night as the team's leading scorer.

Luckily for the Wizards, Cleveland (6-23) isn't much better. The Cavaliers have talent in the form of Kyrie Irving, Anderson Varejao and Dion Waiters, but they still need much more seasoning.

It should be a hotly contested game with both teams smelling a much-needed win.
