NBA Trade Rumors: Wizards Expect To Do Some Dealing Before Deadline

The Washington Wizards have so far stood their ground as the NBA trade deadline approaches. They have only a few hours before the 3:00 p.m. Eastern deadline to make a deal, and it sounds as though the Wizards will be making a deal, according to Michael Lee at the Washington Post.

Lee cites a source within the Wizards organization who says that team president Ernie Grunfeld is making calls ahead of the deadline. Lee's source says that the team is expects to "make something happen."

JaVale McGee is one name mentioned in the report. Lee pushes back on the notion that Washington was asking too much for McGee, saying that they are only seeking "an NBA starter." One potential stumbling block is a reluctance for trade partners to take on McGee's salary.
