After one half at Verizon Center, the Washington Wizards trail the Golden State Warriors 65-51. The Warriors were absolutely on fire early, and have hit eight of ten three-pointers through the first 24 minutes. The Wizards gave up a whopping 41 points in the first quarter - more than any other this season. As a team, Golden State is shooting 61 percent from the floor. The way tonight has gone on the offensive end, you'd think Don Nelson still coaching in the Bay Area. Monta Ellis leads all scorers with 19 points for GSW.
The Wizards were able to cut into the 17-point first quarter deficit slightly in the second, holding the Warriors to only 24 points. John Wall, coming off an impressive performance against fellow No. 1 pick Kyrie Irving, had a spectacular first half. He finished with a team-high 12 points but most importantly, facilitated the offense and dished nine assists. With little defense on either end, it should be an exciting second half in Chinatown.
