The Washington Wizards, after trailing by 15 points at halftime, stormed back to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 106-101 at the Verizon Center on Wednesday night.
Unheralded Washington big men Trevor Booker and Kevin Seraphin led the way for the Wizards. Booker scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, while Seraphin added 14 points and nine boards.
Kobe Bryant led the Lakers in defeat with 30 points, but made just four of his last 23 shots in the game. As a team, the Lakers shot just 39.5 percent from the floor.
With Wednesday night's victory, the Wizards have now defeated two of the Western Conference's elite teams at the Verizon Center this season (Oklahoma City in mid-January was previous marquee win).
