The Washington Wizards finished the 2011-2012 season on a six-game winning streak, cruising to a 104-70 win over the Miami Heat. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh all sat out for the Miami, and the Wizards made sure it was never close, extending their lead in each quarter to close out the season in dominating fashion.
The Wizards received contributions from a wide variety of players on the offensive end, with nine players getting at least 20 minutes of run. Washington shot 53 percent from the field and put five players in double figures. Nene and Kevin Seraphin were solid in the paint, scoring 15 points each down low and finishing the season strong. Washington fans have to feel a little more at ease with the way both big men contributed in the second half of the year. John Wall added 12 assists, including nine in the first half.
Miami, who scored just 66 points on Tuesday in Boston, was just as woeful on Thursday. They shot 36 percent from the floor and committed 22 turnovers in the rout. The Heat had only two players in double figures, and those two players were Norris Cole and Eddy Curry -- which tells you all you need to know about this game.
Washington's streak to close the year results in a 20-46 record.
