The NBA Draft is less than two weeks away and the Washington Wizards hold the No. 3 overall pick. They have the ability to dramatically alter the rest of the top ten. Anthony Davis is the consensus No. 1 pick, but after that, there are still plenty of rumors and speculation about who the Bobcats favor at No. 2 and who the Wizards are zeroing in on at No. 3. Bradley Beal and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist are generally considered the next top prospects after Davis, with DC native Thomas Robinson potentially breaking into the top three. But Jeff Goodman of CBS thinks Charlotte will take Beal with the second pick, leaving MKG for Ernie Grunfeld:
Randy Wittman could use a skilled shooter to pair with John Wall, but we hear that they like Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and his high-motor. He'll never be a pure shooter, but his work ethic will certainly allow him to improve in that area.
Kidd-Gilchrist has already professed an affinity for playing alongside Wizards point guard John Wall, and the two former Kentucky Wildcats would certainly create an enticing one-two punch in transition.
