A day after looking rather sloppy in their Summer League opener, the Washington Wizards bounced back in a big way to defeat the Houston Rockets, 76-70.
The game wasn't nearly as close as the score indicated, as the Wizards held a 17-point halftime lead, and only became close after a late charge by the Rockets after the game was in hand.
Although Bradley Beal wasn't able to put up numbers like in the opener, he looked much better on both sides of the ball as Mike Prada of Bullets Forever writes:
"What a start by Bradley Beal. The problem with him sometimes is he tries too hard to fit in, but in this game, he was assertive from the start. The Wizards involved him in a couple pick and rolls, and he always found a way to get to the middle and kick to the open shooters."
The increased defensive presence by the Wizards in the second game also went a long way to the victory. The Wizards will need to continue to work on taking care of the ball
