Middle Tennessee State's LaRon Dendy worked out for several teams prior to the NBA Draft, but wasn't selected. Instead the 2012 Sun Belt player of the year will join the Washington Wizards roster for the NBA Summer League and try to earn himself a contract for the regular season.
"It feels really good," Dendy said. "When you get a chance to show your skill one more time and to get to do it on the big stage, it's really amazing.
"(I am) just going out there playing hard and hoping the Washington Wizards give me a contract for the regular season."
The 2012 Summer League will be played July 13-22 in Las Vegas and features 24 player rosters for 24 teams. All games can be watched on NBA TV or digital platforms.
