The Washington Wizards could never recover from a 16-point deficit in the first quarter, as they fell to the Indiana Pacers, 89-81, on Wednesday night. The loss drops the Wizards' road record to 1-14.
Washington had no answers for Paul George in the game. The former Fresno State player exploded for 29 points and 14 rebounds in the victory.
Meanwhile, the Wizards' high-scorer was Jordan Crawford, who finished with 20 points. Kevin Seraphin also had a strong game for Washington, as he totaled 16 points and nine rebounds.
Aside from the slow start, Washington was done in by its inability to get to the free throw line. The Wizards attempted just 10 shots from the charity stripe, while Indiana had 31. Washington committed 11 more personal fouls in the game.
The Wizards, which are now 4-26, will host the Brooklyn Nets on Friday. It will be the first game between the two teams this season.
