The Washington WIzards lost Friday night to fall to 4-27, 2.5 games behind the New Orleans Hornets for the worst record in the NBA. They're 3.5 games behind the Charlotte Bobcats in the Southeast Division, and 18 games behind the Miami Heat for the lead in the conference and the division. The Boston Celtics are occupying the eighth seed in the conference, and they're 10.5 games in front of the Wiz.
Elsewhere around the league, the Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls are separated by percentage points for the lead in the Central Division, with the Bulls having the advantage in the loss column. The Knicks have a 4.5-point lead over the Brooklyn Nets in the Atlantic Division.
Out west, the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers continue to lead their respective divisions. The Thunder and Clippers are tied atop the conference, with the Thunder in the lead by percentage points, and the Spurs are a half-game back. If the season ended today, the Blazers and the Nuggets would be the last two teams in the playoffs and the Timberwolves would be on the outside looking in.
